Pittsburg Police Arrest Antioch Man in Chevron Homicide

The Pittsburg Police Department has announced an arrest in an April 14 homicide at the Chevron Gas Station on California Avenue.

Anthony Mabutas, a 20 year old Antioch resident, was arrested in connection to this homicide of Anthony Ventura, 22 of Bay Point. Mabutas is actively on probation and has prior arrests for illegally carrying a loaded firearm.

The victim in this case was the intended target and actions leading up to this incident are still under investigation.

Officers arrived on April 14 to find Ventura suffering from a gunshot wound. Medical personnel performed live saving efforts, but the victim died on scene. Officers have secured the scene and detectives and crime scene investigators are on scene.  The Ventura was in the parking lot area of the gas station with several acquaintances when the suspect confronted and shot him.

Murderers, rapists, drug dealers, and section 8’ers are the backbone and pillar of Antioch’s society! We should be hinting them and putting out the red carpet for them. Let’s not break our tradition in Antioch.
