Pittsburg: Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck by Train

At 3:45 PM Tuesday, Pittsburg Police officers responded to Loveridge Road north of Pittsburg-Antioch Highway for a train that had collided with a pedestrian.

BNSF Railroad personnel was reporting this information and the involved train later found to be an AMTRAK Train. Officers located the victim deceased on scene.

According to Captain Ron Raman, the AMTRAK passenger train was traveling westbound when the pedestrian was struck, there are no other known injuries and this time and vehicle traffic is not effected.

BNSF Police Investigators are responding and will be assisted by officers from our department.

I happened to be on this train. It was the 715 North. So sad, can’t believe this happened.
