by ECT

The Pittsburg Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred Sunday at 1:20 pm in the 300 block of Bernauer Drive.

According to Pittsburg Police Captain Ron Raman, the subject had possibly shot himself. Officers found a male adult resident suffering from a gunshot wound to his stomach area.

Raman stated the man would not comment on the circumstances that led to his injury and that he is a convicted felon that is not legally able to posses a firearm.

“There was no evidence or firearm located and its unknown at this point if the gunshot was self-inflicted,” said Raman. “He was transported to a local hospital and is in stable condition.”

Raman also said there was not arrest as of Monday

Well, if you’re going to carry a gun illegally as a convicted felon, shooting yourself is better than shooting someone else.
