Pittsburg: Down Power Lines Causes Sunday Night Shelter in Place

At roughly 7:46 pm Sunday night, the Pittsburg Police Department and Contra Costa County Fire Protection District responded to a large tree that fell over and took down a power pole and power lines on Sierra Dr. The incident was caused from high winds and the power poll and tree were left laying on a home but no fire was started.

The incident caused a shelter in place from Contra Costa County as PG&E worked the incident.  Emergency crews were on scene for over 4-hours.

According to PG&E, Pittsburg had a total of 9 outages last night affecting 212 customers as of 9:39 pm. As of 12:39 am, there were 4-outages affecting 49 customers.

Shelter in Place in the areas of San Juan and Brookside Dr in Pittsburg due to downed power lines.

There are power lines down in the San Juan Dr and Brookside Dr area in Pittsburg.

People in the area of Brookside Dr. to Railroad Ave and from Redondo Dr. to El Camino Dr are advised to take shelter in the nearest place of safety. Due to unsafe downed power lines go inside, and close all windows and doors. Stay off the phone unless you need to report a life-threatening emergency at your location.
