On February 28 at 4:20 pm, BART police officers detained a suspect for fare evasion at the Pittsburg-Bay Point station after he fled from offices.

According to BART, the suspect fled from officers and jumped onto the trackway. Power had to be turned off and trains were held out of the station. He then jumped over a fence and ran turned a residential neighborhood.

BART says the subject then kicked open a basement door of a home and stole a bike where the suspect attempted to flee from officers using the stolen bike. The officers had to use force to apprehend the subject.

A record’s check revealed the suspect had a No Bail CDC Warrant for his arrest.

The suspect was arrested for his felony warrant, residential burglary, trespassing, and resisting arrest. The suspect was taken to Sutter Delta Hospital for minor abrasions and then taken to the Martinez Detention Facility for booking.
