Pittsburg: 70 Marijuana Plants Discovered After House Fire

The Pittsburg Police Department were called to a residential house fire after firefighters located a marijuana grow just before 6:00 pm Thursday in the 300 Block of Gull Place.

Contra Costa County Fire Protection District responded to a report of smoke and flames at 5:53 pm with Engine 84 reporting a large column of smoke en-route. They arrived to find a home fully involved with flames.

Upon further investigation, firefighters made entry and located a grow operation and stated large amounts of fireworks or possible ammunition were exploding.

Pittsburg Police stated Friday morning they are still working to contact the residents of the home.
