Photos: Nearly 70 People Attend Antioch Police Neighborhood Cleanup

Antioch Police Chief Allan Cantando was thankful Saturday as nearly 70 people attended the 49th Neighborhood Cleanup event Saturday morning.

The event involved the the Antioch Police Department Crime Prevention Commission; Neighborhood Watch Program; Target Volunteers; Volunteers in Police Service; community volunteers and the Public Works Department.

Also in attendance were members from newly formed Facebook groups Empower Antioch Today and Cleaning Up Antioch One Home at a Time along with Assemblyman Jim Frazier and Antioch City Councilwoman Monica Wilson.

Volunteers cleaned up the area around Kimball Elementary School and some groups made their way all the way out to Cavallo and Wilber Ave as well as a portion of A Street.

That’s so awesome! I saw them out in front of my house, wish I could have joined them, but I had to work.

Too bad they can’t organize something like this in Oakley. Every time I drive down main street I see ghetto trash building up on the sides of the streets. It looks terrible. People just do not want to use a trash can anymore.
