Thousands of East County residents flocked to downtown Brentwood last night to enjoy the Brentwood Chamber of Commerce 31st Annual Holiday Parade and Winter Walkabout to kick off the Holiday Season.

Last month, the Brentwood Chamber of Commerce estimated the parade would bring in 500-800 attendees, however, with the streets along the parade route packed attendance far exceeded expectations.

Not to be forgotten is this was a parade that almost never happened. Thankfully, the community stepped up which included a $2,500 donation by the Brentwood Police Officers Association and the City of Brentwood who donated $800 for a temporary usage permit. Local businesses that helped raise funds include: Sutter Delta Medical Center, The Monthly Grapevine, Homes by Krista, Mission City Rebar, Mashore Body Shop, Annie Jung MA, Biglow Insurance Agency, Brentwood Press and the Law Offices of Silky Sahan.

All of the organizers, volunteers, and participants should be proud this morning after putting on a wonderful showcase in Brentwood last night.

Thank you for pointing out that local business stepped up to make sure the parade was a go. Would have been a shame for it to not happen. Way to go Brentwood, you should all be proud of yourselves.

It was a great night and one to remember for sure. The BPOA is proud of the citizens of Brentwood and are more proud to be apart of the event. Thank you to everyone who came out yesterday and supported the event.
