Photos: Antioch Police Block Off Sycamore Dr. After Shots Fired Sunday Morning

Antioch Police were forced to block off a portion of Sycamore Drive Sunday morning to after a man was seen with a rifle in a parking lot of an apartment complex. Police  proceeded with a search for the subject around 10:30 am Sunday who reportedly had a gun.

Multiple callers reported hearing gun shots while stating that the subject may be suicidal.

Police quickly performed a perimeter check of the apartment complex at the 2200 block of Sycamore. They then began evacuating residents of the apartments to ensure safety before taking police action.  After multiple requests with a loud speaker to exit the apartment, police proceeded in. The subject was not inside.

No further details were provided about the incident.

Antioch PD has clarified that no shots were ever fired in this incident despite what was being reported off radio traffic. To view the update click here.
