This is Ashley Feddersen, a third grader in Oakley, who over the weekend did something nice for firefighters at Station 93 in Oakley and baked them cookies.

According to Ashley’s mother, Christy, she wanted to bake for firefighters because they worked to keep the community safe and she saw them fight a fire on her street.

She has since been thankful after seeing them in action where flames were coming out of the front of the home.

The June fire destroyed a home just a few houses down from her families and once the fire was under control, she spoke to a couple firefighters about what they were doing and  how they fight fires.

It’s something she has not forgotten because although they were busy, they still made time to talk with her when they could.

“She wanted to do something in return for the firefighters,” said Christy Feddersen.

Christy says during the visit, they delivered 3-dozen chocolate chip and white chocolate chip cookies which took a few hours to make.
