People Being Awesome: Act of Heroism in Tracy

On November 9, 2015 at approximately 10:35 am, Tracy Police Department Volunteers Richard Avila and Ralph Price were approaching the south bound I-5 bridge when they observed a tractor truck fully engulfed in flames.

Tracy PD Volunteers Ralph, Richard and a good Samaritan Eric Chavez were able to pull the exhaust stack away from the door allowing the female driver to slide out of the truck and assist her to safety.

Ralph, Richard and Eric acted bravely and without hesitation to save the drivers life. Without their efforts to free the driver the outcome may have been tragic.

The Tracy Police Department recognizes their courage and thank Ralph, Richard and Eric for acting swiftly.
