One Dead in Monday Night Vehicle Crash on Byron Highway

At 8:52 pm Monday, Contra Costa County Fire Protection District was dispatched to a report of a vehicle crash at Byron Highway and Clifton Court in Byron.

While responding, it was reported that one person was deceased after being ejected from the vehicle.

By 9:25 pm, it was reported that one person had been ejected from the vehicle which was on its side. The victim was underneath the vehicle. A helicopter was responding to provide overhead lights to search the nearby field for possibly additional victims.

CHP Update

Last night (8/29/22) at about 8:52pm, Contra Costa CHP was advised of a single vehicle crash on Byron Highway, near Clifton Court. A Nissan Altima was traveling southbound on Byron Highway when it left the roadway for yet to be determined reasons and rolled over several times. During the crash sequence, the driver was ejected from the vehicle and sustained fatal injuries.
CHP and emergency personnel arrived on scene and the driver was pronounced deceased. This crash is still under investigation, if anyone witnessed it or the events leading up to it, please contact Contra Costa CHP in Martinez, (925) 646-4980

So many deaths on this road. People jus don’t get it. U HAVE to slow down. These aren’t video games where you can restart the game after dying in a crash.
