Here is a look at this weeks upcoming events in East Contra Costa County which is jam packed with things to do now that October is finally here.  This weekend, Lumpy’s Diner is hosting their  annual burger eating contest from 4-9pm while on Sunday, the Delta-Antioch Kiwanis are hosting their Pride of the Delta Restaurant Tour which is $15 and tickets are still available.

Pittsburg Entertainment & Arts Hall of Fame is hosting their first induction ceremony on Sunday Oct. 6 at 2:00 pm in the creative arts building.

Eighteen Pittsburg artists, ranging from Emilio Civita, who was the leader of the Pittsburg Municipal Band from 1916 until his death in 1966, to Dr. Ronald McDowell, the internationally known artist who created the 90-foot frieze, “A Symphony in Art” in the Creative Arts Building, have been selected for induction into the Pittsburg Entertainment & Arts Hall of Fame.

Selected to the first class of the new Hall of Fame are: Norman Abercrombie Sr., Betty Brown, Rev. Isaiah and Geneva Brown, Joe Castro, Civita, Orrin Cross, Pete Escovedo, Clarence Fornwald. Gerald Glasper, Papa John Guerrero, Leola Jiles, Louis Jones, Chooch Lombardo, Ollie McClay, Dr. McDowell, Tom Nunnelly and Alice Jean Wilton.

One more item. The Delta Digital Camera Club is having a photography exhibition this coming Saturday from 10:00-3:00 at the CR Framing Gallery. 700 Harvest Drive, Brentwood. Club member are all local photographers and we are excited to be showing our work. Come enjoy wine, hors d’oeuvres and light jazz and great photos.
