At roughly 11:55 pm Saturday night, Oakley Police and firefighters responded to a report of a vehicle who crashed into the community lake on Frank Hengel Way and Ibis Drive.

While responding, police received several calls of a male fleeing the scene and running down the street and onto a trail.

Authorities arrived on scene along with East Contra Costa Fire Protection District Engines 93 (Oakley) and 94 (Knightsen) and could not locate the vehicle in the water due to the depth and darkness. Using technology, a helicopter flew overhead to see if they could locate anyone in the lake which they could not see anything.

According to police, a dive team were scheduled to respond Sunday morning to pull the vehicle out of the lake. It’s unclear as of Sunday morning if that has happened.

No further update have been provided by Oakley Police.

See, all you Oakley haters? Section 8 people shouldn’t be allowed to drive. They crash into lakes and things, and then their vehicles disappear. Every time for the last one times.
