Oakley: Two Residents Displaced From Home After Electrical Fire

by ECT

Two residents were displaced from their home Thursday night after an electrical fire caused major damage to their home.

The fire was reported at 11:30 pm on the 5200 block of Aspen Road in Oakley with Engine 93 reporting smoke showing from a mile out. Fire response was delayed for firefighters because of the rain and flooded roads in the area.

Upon arrival, Engine 93 reported smoke from the eves of the home and a working fire in the living room.

Engine 93 was further delayed from an offensive attack because they were awaiting for Engine 54 or Engine 88 to arrive before they could make entry and establish a two-in-two-out attack.  When Engine 54 arrived on scene, Engine 88 of Antioch was still 10-minutes away from the scene.

By 11:56pm, the fire was knocked down. The fire caused heavy fire damage and smoke damage throughout the interior of the home.

According to the ECCFPD, the fire was listed as an accident fire with the probable cause being an electrical fire.
