Oakley Reminds Residents They Have Online Tools to Assist Code Enforcement

by ECT

The City of Oakley reminded residents that they have tools available to residents to assist its code enforcement team to address nuisances affecting the quality of life for residents and business owners.

These two web‐based tools allow residents to report possible violations and safety concerns via our website, or an actual App on your smart phone called “Oakley OnDemand” (search “GORequest” for the app).  The application allows you to select among many common violations or concerns and report them all anonymously.

Oakley OnDemand is a web tool within the City of Oakley website that allows you to report an issue, ask a question, or make a complaint or compliment. It’s extremely user‐friendly and will provide you with a case tracking number and date for follow up. Don’t worry if you can’t determine the topic or issue, just report it, we’ll figure out where to assign the case (Public Works, Code Enforcement, or Police Department).

If you could include contact information, we’ll provide you a definitive answer to your concern or
question. On the City’s main webpage you can click on “Report a Concern” or it can be
accessed at: http://www.ci.oakley.ca.us/ondemand‐faqs/ and scroll down to the bottom
and select the icon labeled, “Submit Request.”

The second tool is an App for your smart phone called GORequest My Town. The application is even easier as you can take a picture and submit your concern right on the spot. It uses your location to inform us just where the violation is occurring. The whole process should take less than a minute and you’ll be provided an “Issue Number” and email acknowledgement of your submission. The App is free and downloads in seconds.
Shopping Carts – the city encourages you to continue to report the location of abandoned carts and is hoping a recent ordinance adopted in June will help cut down on this issue.
Additional Trash Pick Ups – As an Oakley resident you are permitted two additional pickups each calendar year. Oakley Disposal will collect up to 12 32‐gallon bags or 12 boxes of household garbage or yard waste, weighing no more than 50 pounds each. No hazardous material, paint, dirt, rocks, or concrete are permitted, nor is furniture, carpet, appliances or e‐waste.
