Oakley Police Searching for Armed Robbery Suspect

At 7:56 am Tuesday, the Oakley Police Department responded to a report of a vehicle versus pedestrian near Ironhouse Elementary School.

Upon arrival in the 4800 block of Frank Hengel Way, police learned prior to the incident, an armed robbery occurred with a knife.

“The victim was parked at his home and stepped away for a quick minute when the suspect grabbed some bags,” explained Sergeant Robert Roberts. “The victim caught up to the suspect vehicle in front of the school and blocked him.”

According to Roberts, the victim got some of his property back before the suspect pulled a knife on him and fled the scene in a gold suburban with license plate 4CLW118. Although no suspect information was provided, the suspect is wanted by Oakley Police for armed robbery.

Oakley Police are expected to release additional information later Tuesday afternoon.

On Tuesday, May 30th 2017 at 7:50am, Oakley Police Officers responded to a reported hit and run in front of Iron House Elementary School. When Officers arrived, they discovered the subject who lived in the neighborhood had his car parked in front of his house, the victims trunk was open with personal property inside the trunk. The victim walked away from his car for a minute leaving the trunk open. A suspect inside a gold GMC Suburban (California plate 4CLW118) took items from the trunk and fled in the vehicle. The victim located the suspect vehicle a short distance away, in front of the school. The victim used his vehicle to block the suspect vehicle, in traffic. The victim recovered his property from inside the suspect vehicle. When the victim recovered his property, one of the suspects threatened the victim with a knife. The suspect vehicle then fled the scene. Oakley PD is currently searching for the gold Suburban for Armed Robbery. A picture of the vehicle is provided.
