Oakley Police Investigating Stabbing on Main Street

by ECT

At 4:04 pm Saturday, the Oakley Police Department responded to a report of an altercation on Main Street at Empire Avenue.

Upon arrival, police discovered a stabbing had occurred. East Contra Costa Fire Protection District firefighters and AMR also arrived on scene to provide medical care.

The injuries sustained were “significant” with multiple stab wounds but they did not offer any additional details as the subject had been transported to a local hospital. Police also did not confirm if the altercation began on a Tri Delta Transit bus and carried over onto Main Street.

According to witnesses a person who observed the incident pulled out a weapon, possibly a firearm, and held the subject at gunpoint until police arrived.

No suspect or victim descriptions were provided.

Check back for updates as Oakley Police are expected to release additional information this evening.

Oakley is really safe. Things happen like every other city but for our proximity to cities that are on the top 100 most dangerous cities in California. We should be thankful.

Was it blacks or Mexicans?

What’s good about this, is a law abiding citizen pulled a weapon and held the suspect until police arrived.
We need more of those citizens!

Absolutely, why is it so difficult for law abiding, Citizens to get concealed carry permits In This state or Area? I believe there are only 6 permits in all of Co Co County, if you can pass the conceal carry class, and back ground check, you should have the right to conceal carry, it would make the criminal think twice, An armed society is a polite society.

Nicole, we should be thankful until it happens to you. We have been having a large increase of crime in our not so little city lately.

Douglas Moore, too bad the police and the Contra Costa Sheriff don’t agree with you. If it were up to them, only the criminals would have the weapons.
