Oakley Police Investigating Drive-By Shooting, House and Vehicles Hit

by ECT

The Oakley Police Department are investigating a drive-by shooting that occurred at 5:50 am Saturday in the 1600 block of Dawson Court in Oakley.

According to police, upon arrival, officers found shell casings in the middle of the road.

Officers searched further and discovered one house had been struck by gunfire several times and two vehicles in front of the same house had also been hit by gunfire. At  the time of the shooting the targeted house was occupied by five adults. No injuries were sustained by any of the occupants.

A canvas of the area revealed a neighbor who had a security surveillance system running at the time of the incident.

According to Sergeant Paul beard, “Through this video surveillance our officers gained a clearer picture of what happened. The video surveillance shows an unknown make red sedan driving down one side of the court. The vehicle appears to be occupied by three white or Hispanic males. The vehicle made a U-turn at the end of the court and opened fire on the targeted house,” explained Beard. “The vehicle continued to drive out of the area after the shooting.”

Beard further stated Saturday afternoon that they have no strong leads or motives and are seeking the public’s help.

If anybody has any information related to this shooting they are asked to call the Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff dispatch center at 925-646-2441 in order to coordinate an in person or anonymous meeting with Oakley police officers.

Drive-by shooting? Gang related – probably Hispanic. This isn’t rocket science.

Not gang related, more than likely not even Hispanic.

Yes, my first thoughts were also Toyota Yaris. Not sure why police would think “unknown make”?
