Oakley Police Find Firearm, Replica Firearms on Drunk Man Who Lit Mailbox on Fire

The Oakley Police Department and Contra Costa County Fire Protection District responded to a report of a mailbox on fire on Norcross on Friday at 4:52 pm.

Upon arrival, Police located  a man who was apparently drunk and threw a firearm onto the grass area in front of Oakley Elementary School. Police then found two replica firearms and a dry wall knife on the man.

The man confessed to lighting the mailbox on fire while police were conducting an investigation on scene.

Police took the suspect into custody on a number of charges.

Note – Engine 88 of Antioch responded as Oakley’s fire engine was on another call.

Did anyone notice Con Fire came from Hillcrest Ave., in Antioch to put out the fire that was two blocks from the Oakley fire station? Good thing it was just a mailbox!!

@Save the Delta… also should be noted that Engine 81 was also stuck in traffic due to construction on Main Street in Oakley which further delayed them. What is scary is where would the second, third, or fourth engines come from?

The question was still not answered, Where were each od the ECCFPD Engines and what were they doing that they could not leave. Stop the dramatics.
