Oakley Police Arrest Man in Connection With Several Vehicle Burglaries

by ECT

On Friday June 30,morning, Oakley Police Officers were dispatched to several thefts from vehicles in the Summer Lakes neighborhood.

Throughout the day, Oakley officers took reports from over ten victims who had items stolen from their vehicles. Some of the vehicles were left unlocked, some were locked. Early on in this investigation our patrol personnel figured out a car was stolen in the City of Benicia on June 29, 2017.

That vehicle was driven to the North Concord BART Station where its license plates were switched with a similar vehicle and then driven to Oakley where it was used to commit these thefts. As the morning progressed, our patrol officers and investigators continued to develop suspect information in this case.

Video surveillance footage was collected from several retailers throughout East County.

Ultimately, Oakley officers identified the subject we believed to be responsible for this crime spree.

The matter was turned over to our swing shift units. Our Problem Oriented Policing Officer and Canine Officer tracked the responsible to a residence in Vallejo. They set up surveillance at the location and after several hours made contact with the suspect. The residence was searched pursuant to the suspects probation. Some items of stolen property and the stolen vehicle were recovered.

Ultimately, Mr. Seyyed Mirlohi a 30 year old male from Vallejo was arrested for numerous charges to include auto burglary, vehicle theft, and probation violation. He was booked at the County jail in Martinez.

This case highlights two key issues. Team work is an essential component of successful police work. In this case, our patrol teams worked collaboratively with our residents, investigators, and specialized units to ultimately solve this case. Secondly, even here in Oakley, it is unwise to leave valuable items in your vehicle. Please join us in helping us prevent these crimes. Don’t leave valuables in your vehicles, and please always lock your cars when parked.

This creature sounds like a sociopath! They have no “heart” .. don’t care about people at all no matter what shape those people are in. This one actually may be a cross between a sociopath and a psychopath.

It is unwise to leave ANYTHING in your vehicle, valuable or not. I won’t even leave a cough drop. It might be mistaken for a piece of jewelry.
