Press Release

Oakley Police

At 3:16 AM on September 25,  Oakley Police Officers were dispatched to 2160 Laurel Road (the new AM/PM) for an armed robbery that just occurred.

Oakley Police officers arrived within one minute of being dispatched and determined the store clerk was robbed at gunpoint.

Our officers obtained video surveillance to support this allegation. All of the cash from the register and cigarettes were taken during the robbery. The suspect fled in a black Honda and our officers were able to view additional video surveillance to determine what the license plate number was.

Our officers had CCCSO dispatchers broadcast the plate and Antioch Police Department located the vehicle on Highway 4.  A pursuit was initiated and the suspect, Johnathan Bordelon (26, Concord), lost control and crashed during the pursuit. Bordelon was arrested and stolen property and the firearm were recovered.

The AM/PM clerk positively identified Bordelon as the armed robber.

As this investigation unfolded it was determined suspect vehicle had been stolen during a carjacking, that occurred in Antioch earlier the previous day. The vehicle was returned to the owner and Bordelon was taken to the hospital for medical clearance before being booked into jail.

“I am very happy with how all of our officers performed and executed their duties during this investigation. The diligence and dedication these officers typically pour into their daily work really paid off during this incident and a dangerous criminal was arrested in a professional fashion. I wish to also extend my appreciation to the Antioch Police Department for the assistance they extended to us during this investigation,” said Chief Paul Beard.

No other information was released by the Oakley Police Department.
