Oakley Police Arrest 17-Year-Old Female on Suspected DUI After Pursuit

At 2:40 am, the Oakley Police Department arrested a 17-year-old female on suspicion of driving under the influence after a vehicle crash at the onramp to westbound Highway 4 at Laurel in the City of Oakley.

According to Oakley Police, an officer spotted the driver coming off the Highway with no headlights on and attempted to pull her over, the driver continued on Laurel Road at a high rate of speed of nearly 90-mph before entering a residential neighborhood off Teton Road.

The driver continued through the neighborhood at speeds of approximately 40-mph before exiting back onto Laurel accelerating back up to more than 70-mph. When the driver attempted to get back onto Highway 4, that is when she crashed into a guard rail.

Police stated that the Antioch Police Department had pursued her earlier in the night for suspected drunk driving before she entered the city of Oakley.  Oakley Police confirmed several opened containers were in the vehicle and alcohol was located.

The California Highway Patrol and Contra Costa County Fire Protection also responded to the crash.

The driver was transported by AMR to a local hospital with minor injuries.
