Oakley: One Person Injured in Early Morning O’Hara Ave Crash

At 1:20 am, emergency crews responded to a vehicle accident on O’Hara Ave near Chianti Way in Oakley last night after a vehicle smashed into a pole that left one male patient airlifted with injuries to John Muir Trauma Center in Walnut Creek.

East Contra Costa Fire Protection District Engine 93, Engine 94, 5100 and BC5 responded to the call along with American Medical Response (AMR), Oakley Police and CalStar.

Engine 93 arrived on scene to find a solo vehicle into a power pole and worked to ensure the scene was secure for safety precautions. Once the scene was secure, extrication was performed and removed patient for transport. BLS and ALS care was provided to the patient while AMR transported the patient to the Helispot at O’Hara Park Middle School.

The patient had major head trauma and the cause of the accident has not yet been determined and is under investigation by Oakley Police.
