On Thursday morning at 7:00 a.m, Oakley Police officers were called to a home in the 500 block Norcross Lane for a verbal argument between a man and a woman.

Upon arrival officers made contact with a woman who was bleeding from the face. The woman reported she had been struck in the face by a man in the home.

The woman reported the suspect was now inside a bedroom of the home with a number of weapons and a bullet-proof vest. Officers evacuated the other members of the home and then learned an elderly woman with dementia was still inside the house.

Officers re-entered the home to remove the woman from danger. Officers spoke to the suspect, who reported he had numerous weapons and had barricaded himself in the bedroom.

With the neighborhood secure, officers continued to speak with the suspect in an effort to get him to exit the bedroom.  After more than an hour of negotiations, the subject agreed to exit the bedroom and was taken into custody without incident.

He was arrested for a variety of felony charges. The subject was transported to OPD where he was given medical treatment and will be booked at the County Jail.
