At 5:50 pm Tuesday, a man on a motorized scooter was injured after colliding with a vehicle on Oakley Road at Knarlwood.
East Contra Costa Fire Protection District Engine 93 arrived on scene with Oakley Police and immediately requested a medical helicopter after the man went in and out of consciousness.
The injuries were considered critical and he was transported via medical helicopter which landed at Orchard Park School for transport to John Muir Hospital in Walnut Creek.
The man was traveling in the westbound direction on Oakley Road where he was struck by a sedan traveling in the same direction.
According to Oakley Police Sergeant Perata, the man is still listed in critical condition Wednesday morning and the driver of the sedan was cooperative with Police.
