Oakley Man Found in Possession of Cocaine, Drugs for Sale Arrested by Antioch Police

by ECT

The Antioch Police Department announced Thursday the arrest of Deon Culberson of Oakley after conducting a traffic and fighting with police. It led to a search warrant which netted drugs, cash, and ammunition for various caliber firearms.

On March 2, at approximately 9:20 pm, an Antioch Police Department Patrol Officer conducted a traffic stop on 41 year old Deon Culberson for a traffic violation. Culberson was found to be in possession of a loaded and concealed firearm.

Culberson was determined to be a previously convicted felon and was therefore prohibited from owning and or possessing a firearm. He was arrested and sent to the Martinez County Detention Facility.

On March 17, at approximately 10:00 am, an Antioch Police Department Patrol Officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on Culberson for traffic violations in the area of Lone Tree Way and Hillcrest Avenue.

Culberson fled in his vehicle and led the officer on a vehicle pursuit through a residential neighborhood. Culberson jumped out of his vehicle on a residential street and led the officer on a foot pursuit. The officer quickly caught up with Culberson and attempted to take him into custody. Culberson fought with the officer, but was subdued and taken into custody. Culberson was arrested for the vehicle pursuit.

The Antioch Police Department Special Operations Unit obtained a search warrant for Culberson’s home and his vehicles. The detectives served the search warrant at Culberson’s house on Dali Court in the City of Oakley. The detectives located a large amount of cocaine and methamphetamine as well as a large amount of cash and ammunition for various caliber firearms.

The detectives also located evidence that the drugs were possessed for the purpose of sales. Culberson was again sent to the Martinez County Detention Facility.

The investigation is ongoing; anyone with information regarding this case is encouraged to call Detective Brogdon with the Antioch Police Department at (925) 779-6895

This is proof our court system is screwed up. He should never have been out of jail in the first place.

Just another thug chump. Another all to familiar example of somebody who cuts corners instead of working an honest living.

I laugh when neighboring cities like Oakley, Brentwood, and others believe that Antioch has the crime issues. They don’t realize there is no invisible wall that keeps out the Antioch bad guys from venturing into greener pastures.

Did you know that according to the DEA, substances like cocaine and methamphetamine are only listed as schedule 2 drugs?

You know who else has a lot of drugs for sale, harms more people annually than all street dealers combined, and never experiences any penalties or consequences for damages done? The pharmaceutical industry ?

Where did Antioch go wrong??????? Mar 18, 2016 - 12:48 pm

That same pharmaceutical company has also been improving your life span. Nice for some to have the chance of dancing at their great great grand children’s wedding.

Certainly. But we also can’t ignore the fact that prescription drugs kill around 100,000 people a year in the U.S. alone. This is FAR more than all illegal narcotics combined. Looks like grandpa’s new ability to cut up the dance floor comes at a drastic cost to the American people.

Nice, use of bad stats and misleading statement. Of course more people would die from prescription drugs. There are FAR more people that use prescription drugs then illegal drugs. I can’t even believe that you would say it is a “drastic cost to the American people.” That is a ridiculous statement.

Maybe it is time to public ally name the judges that let these thugs go too soon. The court system is not helping anyone by these actions.
