For those not aware, the City of Oakley is hosting its first Heart of Oakley Festival in downtown Oakley today from 11 am to 6 pm where folks can enjoy wine tasting, local art, kids’ activities and multicultural performances.
The event will also mean the closure of Main Street beginning at 9:00 am just east of Vintage Parkway to Norcoss. Vehicles traveling East will be detoured and encouraged to take Empire. Vehicles traveling west not attending the event will want to detour at Laurel, Cypress or O’Hara Ave.
For those attending the event and driving westward, parking will be available at a parking lot on Main at Norcross, at Oakley Elementary School, and on neighborhood roads. For those heading eastward on Main, parking will be available at the Oakley Plaza, behind the Oakley Plaza strip mall, on designated lots along Main Street and some parallel spaces on Main Street.
Volunteer flaggers will be on hand to help guide vehicles to parking spaces.
