The City of Oakley will be asking residents Tuesday in a Community Meeting if they would support a $48 annual property assessment for landscaping along entry points to subdivisions.
This meeting appears to be very preliminary in floating an idea around of a $4-per-month assessment fee ($48 annually) as little information is provided. What we do know is neighborhoods already do pay a landscaping fee and are plush with funds while others are underfunded.
It is unclear if all households in Oakley would pay this fee, certain neighborhoods or who would be excluded—such as neighborhoods with HOA’s. Using rough estimates, this could bring in an additional $480,000 or more for the city for landscaping purposes.

No No No.
Just because the city failed to take this into consideration when the subdivisions were approved and get the fee from the builder now they think they can comeback and zing the homeowners now?
Don’t fall for this one folks.
