Oakley: Child Injured in T-Bone Vehicle Crash, Vintage Parkway Shut Down

by ECT

At 2:34 pm, Oakley Police and the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District responded to a T-bone vehicle accident on Vintage Parkway and Main Street that left a young female injured.

As crews arrived on scene, they found a two-vehicle accident which blocked the road headed towards Vintage Elementary School. Oakley Police shut down traffic at Main Street as crews worked.

The grey Camaro reportedly hit the green vehicle and spun it around. No details about what caused the crash were released by police.

According to firefighters, the injuries were minor and the child was more scared than injured. Fire crews were on scene for just under 1-hour.

The child was transported to a local hospital via American Medical Response as a precaution.

The cause of this one is easy. Red light runner no doubt.

This was closer to yogurt Island…. no where near a light or even a stop sign.

I’m sorry, I read the location you printed and assumed the intersection.

I cannot understand the design of Main Street in this area. Not only is that intersection on Main and Vintage screwed up, the whole street design on Main from Vintage to O’hara had to be designed by idiots. Just accidents waiting to happen. Too narrow, and with that pull in and back out parking in front of the shopping center, dumb, dumb, dumb, should have been a four lane street with turn lane. What were the city’s engineers thinking!
