Oakley Chamber Website Re-Launched

Oakley Chamber Launch

It’s finally arrived, the Oakley Chamber of Commerce has officially re-launched it’s website and is live!

Let me tell you, its a beautiful site!  While I was in attendance to last weeks preview, it was nothing compared to playing around with it while personally being up to navigate to the many new features available. Like all websites, it will take some getting used to. I should also note, the Chamber and its members are still in the process of updating their information.

But here is what I absolutely love so far:

  • Member Directory is easy to navigate and the profile pages are clean and full of information–for version 2.0, I’d include a logo on the directory page next to each business to make it more graphically appealing.
  • “New Members” tab. Here you will find a new write up (and a picture) of the newest member.
  • “Deals” Section: Who doesn’t like a good deal? I can’t wait to see this expand in the future.
  • Online Registration to become a new member – it’s now a lot easier to join.  I tested it it until the payment portion where I moved onto another page.

There are many other neat features that when more information is added, will be solid additions.

During last weeks preview, Chamber President Sallie Goetsch shared what started out as simply making what they already had “better”, it turned into her husband Stefan Didak wanting to be “the best”.  It turned into a labor of love as the project took three months to create and the Chamber now has a $20,000 website for free. Kudos to them!

I would encourage you not to take my word for it,  go visit the site and take a look for yourself.

Their site looks nice, but it runs slow and if I want to see social media postings, I’ll vist facebook and twitter.

I like the site, not sure what the beef is with a former member. Don’t like it, don’t join!
