Oakley Announces Holiday Themed Events

The City of Oakley announced this week a series of Christmas and Holiday themed events giving something for everyone to partake in. Here is a list of happenings:


Jingle Ball Tickets Deadline November 4

The Inaugural Jingle Ball will be held on Saturday, December 10th from 7:00PM to 11:00PM at the Oakley Recreation Center, 1250 O’Hara Ave.

Throughout the evening enjoy dinner, desserts, and drinks while dancing the night away with the music of live band and a silent auction benefiting local non-profits. Your purchase of a $50 ticket is all inclusive with dinner and dessert.

North Pole Mailbox Returns November 14th

Our North Pole mailbox returns from November 14- December 5th. Please drop off your letter to Santa with a self-addressed stamped envelope, and our elves will make sure Santa sends a reply before Christmas.

Santa’s mailbox will be located at the Oakley Recreation Center at 1250 O’Hara Ave & Oakley City Hall at 3231 Main Street. The Recreation Center is open Monday-Thursday 8am-6pm, and Fridays from 8am-5pm (closed the first and third Friday).

City Hall is open Monday-Thursday 8am- Noon closed on Fridays.


Hometown Holiday Decorating Contest

Participate in the annual Hometown Holiday Decorating Contest. Residents are invited to decorate their own festive house by December 8th. The contest is open to any home within the City of Oakley limits. Limited to the exterior front yard and roof only. Entries will be posted online for the public to vote on.  — enter here


December 3: Annual Christmas Tree Lighting

The City of Oakley is hosting its Annual Christmas Tree Lighting on Saturday, December 3rd, starting at 4pm. Join us at Civic Center Plaza, 3231 Main Street as we kick off the holiday season with this family-friendly event. Admission and parking are FREE and the event will take place rain or shine.

Civic Center Plaza will be adorned with lights and Christmas decorations. There will be free cookies and cocoa, arts & crafts for the children, live entertainment and more. Santa Claus will also be making a special visit!

Entertainment for the night will include performances by local organizations. We will gather around the live Christmas tree near the Veteran’s Memorial to watch the lights turn on at approximately 6pm


December 17: Breakfast with Santa

Join us for our Annual Breakfast with Santa! On Saturday, December 17th, have breakfast with Santa at our Oakley Recreation Center.

Guests will have the opportunity to visit with Santa and capture the moment with photos. Our pancake breakfast will include eggs, bacon, and beverages. There will be a make-n-take holiday craft and a small gift from Santa for the children

Pre-registration is required for this event, and tickets will not be available at the door. This year we will have two time slots for families to sign-up for:

  • 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM
  • 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM
