At 9: 15 pm Thursday, East Contra Costa Fire Protection District responded to a 9 year old who fell off his bicycle and was flown by helicopter to Children’s Hospital in Oakland.
According to the ECCFPD, upon arrival, the boy had a large avulsion to the left side of his face and head.
The boy was treated on scene by Engine 88 (Antioch) on Beringer Ct. and was transported by ground to Vintage Parkway where Engine 93 (Oakley) staged for the medical helicopter who then transported the boy.
No further details were provided and the cause of the accident was deemed “undetermined”.
