Cleo Shelter Dog

This beautiful female pit-bill mix is approximately 7 months old. When we pulled her from her kennel we noticed a pink collar with a name tag attached there was her name CLEO along with a phone number.

On her kennel card it states (possible owner) after many attempts and messaged left no call has been returned. She was found running in a field @ 10:41 am on October 2.

This little girl is gentle, well behaved, loves other dogs and doesn’t like to potty in her own kennel. She is one of the most beautiful pit-bulls I have personally ever seen.

I question why she is in the care of Antioch Animal Services. Why does an owner not return a phone call?

At one point in her life she was important enough to somebody to buy a pink collar and a tag to put her name upon, but at what point did she become disposable? She along with every other animal in this shelter is a LIFE, she lives and breathes, she feels hurt and pain.

The abandonment she feel shows in her eyes, the positions of her body when I pet her tells me she fears human touch but wants nothing more than to trust someone to love her. I wonder did she run away from an abusive house? Did someone drop her in the field to fend for herself because they didn’t want her anymore? Did she simply get lose and her people just moved on like she had never existed?

I use to think things like “maybe people just didn’t know to call the shelter” but this is not the case because the shelter has left countless messages and Cleo’s owners simply chose not to call back.

If you can offer Cleo a new life a new, home and even a new name please come down and meet her at Antioch animal services today..
