Nov 11: East Contra Costa Veterans Day Events

Here is a rundown of Veterans Day events in East Contra Costa County which includes celebrations in Antioch, Brentwood, Oakley. and Pittsburg.

The El Campanil Theatre will also be hosting a free showing of Chosin, a Korean War documentary film by Brian Iglesias. The film will begin at 6:30 pm.

Join the City of Antioch beginning at 9:30 am where they will begin their Veterans Day Celebrations with the arrival and landing of the Huey Helicopter followed by Ceremonies with Special Guest Speakers at the Veterans Memorial based of “L” Street followed by a parade with floats, military vehicles and equipment, veterans, bands, and classic cars.

At 11:00 am, the parade will begin at 2nd & L Street and continue down 2nd Street ending at 2nd & E St.

The City of Oakley will unveil their new memorial at 11:00 am with a ceremony to pay tribute to veterans.
The event will take place at Oakley’s Civic Center Park located (3231 Main Street). This year’s Keynote Speaker will be Marine Corps Sgt. Nathan D. Johnson (Ret.), who served in Pakistan and Iraq during Operation Enduring Freedom.

City of Brentwood
The commemoration will begin at 10:30 am at Veterans Park located at 3841 Balfour Road in Brentwood.
