Here is a look at Veterans Day Ceremonies in East Contra Costa County which includes Antioch, Brentwood, Oakley and Pittsburg.

9:30 am City of Antioch
Join the City of Antioch as they host their 2016 Veterans Day Ceremonies, parade and USO tribute o Our Celebration begins with Special Guest Speakers at the Veteran’s Memorial at the foot of “L” Street followed immediately by a Battle of the Local High School Bands and a Parade with Veterans, Floats, Bands, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, Motorcycles and Classic Cars!

  • 9:30 AM Ceremonies at the Marina
  • 11:00 AM Parade from the Veterans Memorial Down 2nd St
  • 12:00 PM VFW Luncheon Free For Veterans – Other Guests-$5
  • 6:00 PM USO Tribute to Veterans at El Campanil Theatre- Tickets $5

10:30 am: City of Brentwood
The event will begin at 10:30 am at Veterans Park located at 3841 Balfour Road in Brentwood. The event will include guest speakers, music and bands, Marine Corps Honor Guard and the closing will include the firing of a Civil War cannon.

 


11:00 am City of Oakley
IMG_4905The City of Oakley will hold its 5th Annual Veterans Day Observance Ceremony on Friday, November 11, 2016 at the Civic Center Park, located at 3231 Main Street beginning at 11:00 a.m.

Oakleyʹs program will include the Presentation of Colors, student essays, rifle salute and taps.

This yearʹs keynote speaker will be the Commander of the Veterans of Oakley, Randal
Smith. He is the founder of the Veterans of Oakley organization.

Bring your worn flags for drop off. The Veterans of Oakley will be accepting flags from the community that will be retired the next day (Saturday the 12th) at the Red Man Pocahontas Hall located at 1403 Main Street in Oakley. All are welcome to observe the flag retirement ceremony which will begin at 1:00 p.m.

 


11:00 am: City of Pittsburg
Veterans Day is a federal and state holiday which honors the millions of military veterans in the United States. All government offices, schools, and banks are closed.   The United Veterans Council Inc. of Pittsburg is holding a Veterans Day Ceremony at the Pittsburg Senior Center, 300 Presidio Lane @ Harbor St.  The ceremony begins at 11:00 a.m.
