Multi-Vehicle Collision Causes Traffic Jam Through Concord

Traffic on I-680 northbound, south of Concord Avenue has been reduced to a crawl due to a 5 vehicle minor injury traffic collision.

A driver became trapped, when the Nissan sedan she was traveling in was pinned against the concrete center dividing wall by a bobtail truck. Three other sedans were also involved in this collision and a total of three people have claimed minor injuries.

A Sigalert for I-680 northbound at this location was issued at 1:41PM and still remains active for the northbound #1, #2, and #3 lanes. The cause of this traffic collision is still pending further investigation.

I have to say with all the news that could be reported in Antioch, why do we keep getting news about cities away from us? This kind of information is on main channels. Please give us our local news. It is Eastcounty.net.

We posted this under the section “Contra Costa” because a lot of our readers travel through Concord each day. This post his 71-shares on Facebook and had over 20,000 views. Most comments on social media were positive that we shared this. Also, at that point in the day, East County was very quiet.
