Moshman Launches Kickstart for Documentary Aimed To End Sexual Harassment

by ECT

Sarah Moshman, director of the Empowerment Project, has launched a kickstart for her new project called Nevertheless, a documentary aimed to end sexual harassment.

According to Moshman, NEVERTHELESS is a documentary that examines the sexual harassment crisis in the American workplace through interviews and personal stories that recount experiences and reveal truths about the intricacies of the issue as a whole. It also shines a critical light on tools and solutions for everyone to use inspired by this watershed moment in our country’s history. The documentary touches upon several topics surrounding harassment and assault in the workplace in order to point towards a brighter future.

NEVERTHELESS is a documentary about how we got here as a society and how we are going to move forward. It’s up to all of us to solve this problem.

She is seeking to raise $50k and has a variety of donation levels starting at $5 to $10,000. At $10k, you can screen NEVERTHELESS at your company or organization including a Q&A or Keynote Speech with Filmmaker Sarah Moshman post-screening.

Moshman admits she is still finalizing the project while she is raising funds and says she is hoping to include a story or two from woman in Contra Costa County to be included in the documentary.

Moshman shared statistics which show at least 1 in 3 women experience some form of harassment or unwanted advances at work – and those are just the reported cases. In October 2017, over 12 million women and men contributed to the #METOO outcry on social media unmasking an endemic issue that spreads across all industries, as well as all genders, ages, races, and socio-economic statuses. We are at an unprecedented time in history. We need action and solutions.

Back in October, Moshman visited Antioch where she spoke at the Antioch Rotary Club’s Empowerment Project event in conjunction with the Antioch Unified School District.
