Martinez: Two Teens Killed During Vehicle Collision on Franklin Canyon Road

Two teenage girls were killed Sunday morning around 3:00 am when the Toyota Solara, they were passengers in, traveled off the road and into a tree.

The teenage driver, also from Martinez, sustained major injuries as a result of this collision and was transported to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek. The driver indicated she was going about 60 MPH while traveling on eastbound Franklin Canyon Road, west of McHarry Ranch Road and may have fallen asleep.

Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor in this crash. If anyone witnessed this incident or the events leading up to it, they are asked to call us at (925) 646-4980.
