The Martinez Police Department announced the arrest of an Antioch man during a pair of burglary in progress calls on Saturday.
Police stated that at 04:28 am Saturday, Officers responded to a report of a burglary in progress at 814 Main St. (Antiques on the Main). A witness described a black male adult who broke through the front door window and made entry into the business. The unknown suspect fled on foot just prior to the arrival of responding officers. An extensive search was conducted but the suspect was not located.
While conducting the investigation, officers viewed a video surveillance image of the burglary and identified a black male adult wearing what appeared to be a camouflage jacket breaking in through the front door of the business. The suspect could be seen leaving the business moments before police arrived.
At 05:26 hours Martinez Police Department (MPD) dispatch received a silent burglary alarm from 1616 Alhambra Ave. (Nature’s Way Doll Center). MPD officers arrived moments later and could see the suspect from the earlier burglary inside the business. Entry appeared to have been made through a side window.
MPD officers began to set up a perimeter around the business when the suspect exited through a side door. He was placed in custody with the assistance of MPD K9 “Brute”.
The suspect was identified as Antioch resident Stanley Holton, 34, and is on active felony probation for assault with a deadly weapon.
He was treated for minor injuries at the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center (CCRMC) and booked into the Martinez Detention Facility (MDF) for two (2) counts of felony burglary. Holton’s bail was set at $200,000.
