Martinez: Firefighters Battling a 5-Acre Fire Along Highway 4

At 8:42 pm Friday, Contra Costa County firefighters responded to a vegetation fire along westbound Highway 4 near Alhambra Ave in Martinez

Upon arrival, firefighters located a 3-acre fire that was wind driven, however, no structures were threatened. They immediately requested assistance from CALFIRE and East Bay Regional Park District Fire.

By 9:26 pm, CONFIRE was reporting they had the fire contained to 5-acres. Firefighters anticipated several hours of mop up.
