Marsh Creek Road Intermittently Closed During New Bridge Construction

by ECT

Clayton, CA – Contra Costa County Public Works will intermittently close Marsh Creek Road, approximately two miles east of Morgan Territory Road on Wednesday, August 1st from 9am to 4pm.

The road will be closed, not to exceed 30 minutes, for new bridge construction purposes.

Contra Costa County Public Works, along with Bridgeway Civil Constructors, Inc. will install 90 foot long precast concrete girders (total 4) at the new bridge site along Marsh Creek Road.     The installation of these girders requires intermittent and full road closures so that two large cranes and large trucks can occupy the narrow roadway corridor for safe girder installation.   After the installation of each girder all waiting traffic will be allowed through the construction site.   Delays are not expected to exceed 30 minutes.

This multi-phased project is expected to be completed by December 2018, barring unforeseen circumstances, at which point Marsh Creek Road will be opened to full width on a new slightly shifted alignment.

This project is funded by Federal Highway Bridge Program funds, SB1 local road funds, and Contra Costa Water District funds.
