On June 8 at approximately 4:45 AM, Antioch Police Officers responded to a report of a shooting near I Street and 1st Street in the downtown area. The officers arrived to find an adult male victim down, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
Medical personnel were summoned and began life saving measures on the 39-year-old Bay Point resident, but the victim ultimately died from his injuries at the scene. This case is currently being investigated by the Antioch Police Department Investigations Bureau.
Police say they are in the preliminary stages of this case, and no further information will be released at this time.

he was fishing but way to speculate on someone you have no clue about. whats next, he deserved it? sure someone being robbed and fighting back deserved to be shot since, you know, it was early morning and he asked for it.
Your guess sure sucks. Way to assume something about a person you didn’t even know. I suppose that being out fishing at that time (which is a common practice among all fishermen) was really invitation to be victim of attempted robbery resulting in in murder, right? Btw, I didn’t know one had to be from antioch in order to not rouse suspicion or motive for being in antioch. Educate yourself before you judge. Shame on you.
Could’ve been early to work in Antioch and needed somewhere to park and wait until his shift began. Could’ve been having a rough night at home with the spouse and needed to cruise around to think things through. Could’ve woke up in the middle of be night from revelatory dreaming and had to go out and ponder the meaning. 4:45 am is not so crazy of a time, unless you’re used to being tucked in at night at the same time under the pretext that you’re being a good little boy staying in before curfew.

As a mature adult, you can be anywhere you want at 4:45 a.m. Within reason. But in a high crime city, it’s not safe, regardless of what you’re doing. Rest in peace.
The guy that was shot was my childhood friend and he left home early to go fishing cause he knew the tide was high at that time and it was the time of day that he fished in that same spot for hella years!..he was minding his business and some suckas felt the need to take his life!he left behind 6kids and and a large living family/friends!so before u open your mouth about someone make sure u know what you know da facts cause all black folks aint up to no good when they out and about minding der own business!..if u dont have anything nice to say den shut your ass up!
21 years he in my life and his gets snuffed out doing what made him feel most at peace. My most heartfelt condolences and prayers out to his entire family.
To all the good people in Antioch. I hope you come together and stop these senseless killings. Get involved if not for yourself for a loved one. This crime wave can be stopped. The residents must get involved to stop the spread of the cancerous killings in Antioch. Bless those who have lost loved ones.

Praying for Marinasha and her family! I didn’t know him personally, but I worked with his sister for many years. I hope they have peace knowing he’s in a better place. Praying that they catch the person as soon as possible.
