by ECT

On Saturday 10/21/17, at about 1151 pm, officers from the Livermore Police Department were on routine patrol in the northwest area of town. An officer observed a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of a business in the 1000 block of Airway Blvd. While conducting a records check of the vehicle, the officer learned that the vehicle had been reported stolen on 10/19/17.

The vehicle was occupied by a lone 26 year old female suspect.

Multiple LPD officers arrived on scene and began ordering the suspect out of the vehicle. The suspect ignored all commands, started the vehicle, and drove directly at the officers striking two LPD patrol cars. Officers feared for their safety and fired at the suspect as she drove at them.

The suspect was struck by the officer’s fire and sustained non life threatening injuries. Officers immediately rendered first aid to the suspect who was then transported to a local hospital. No LPD officers were injured in this incident.

The investigation is ongoing and no further information will be released at this time. LPD is asking anyone who witnessed this incident to please call 925-371-4777
