Livermore Police Make Arrest in Shooting That Injures 5 People at a House Party

The Livermore Police Department is actively investigating the shooting that occurred in the 200 block of S. Q Street, injuring 5 people. Since the initial call, LPD Officers and Detectives have been following up on leads and processing the crime scene.

About 9:30 am, LPD Detectives learned the shooter in this case was possibly Anthony Jesus Torres (DOB: 03/17/1993). Investigators located Torres and subsequently arrested him during a traffic stop. There were two additional occupants in the vehicle that appeared to be aiding Torres with an attempt to avoid arrest. LPD Detectives placed all three subjects under arrest and transported them to LPD for questioning.

Based on the investigation, Torres was booked into Santa Rita Jail for the following charges:

  • 664/187 PC – Attempted Murder (5 Counts)
  • 246 PC – Shooting a Firearm into an Inhabited Dwelling

The other two individuals were released from police custody pending further investigation.

The Criminal Investigation Bureau is continuing to investigate the shooting and is seeking the community’s assistance in locating any additional witnesses or suspects. The Livermore Police Department is actively investigating a shooting that occurred in the 200 block of S. Q Street.

On 08/31/14, about 12:28 AM, Livermore Police Officers were in the area of S. Q Street on an unrelated pedestrian stop whe
n they heard several gunshots in the area. LPD Officers notified other officers and began to search for the location of the gunshots. At the same time, LPD dispatch began to receive multiple 911 calls reporting shots fired at a residence in the 200 block of S. Q Street. The callers reported several people were injured with gunshot wounds. Officers arrived on scene and could see people with gun related injuries and immediately began rendering aid.

LPD’s Criminal Investigations Unit is in the preliminary stages of the investigation. As of right now, we have learned that there was a house party in the 200 block of S. Q Street involving approximately 20 subjects. During the party, 3 males, who were invited by one of the attendees, arrived at the party. During the party, the 3 males were involved in a verbal argument with other attendees and were asked to leave. The 3 males left the residence shortly after being asked. About 30 minutes later, a white sedan pulled up in front of the house party, stopped, and someone within the vehicle began to shoot at the people attending the house party. The white sedan then fled the area. As a result of the shooting, 5 people (3 females and 2 males) have been shot and were transported to local hospitals. All of the victims are adults and range in age from late teens to early 20’s. The names of the victims are not being released. The motivation for the shooting is unclear at this point.

The investigation is ongoing and the Livermore Police Department is seeking the community’s assistance in locating the identity of the suspects and any witnesses in this case.
