The Liberty High School Interact Club seems to be everywhere these days in Brentwood helping where they can and working to improve their city on a variety of levels. From working events to map paintings, they are learning the art of giving back to the community.
We wanted to give a shout out this morning to the Liberty high School Interact Club who is the high school version of a Rotary Club. They have been busy helping out in the community and last night was no different as they worked the Edna Hill 60th Birthday Party.
During the event, Rotary donated and served hot dogs while the Interact Club helped out.
According to Dirk Ziegler, they helped out wherever it was needed from cutting watermelon to picking up trash to serving hot dogs, they were there to help the event run smoothly.
“It’s just neat to see high school kids to take their own time and spend it by doing community service. That is what is so amazing about this group. Time and time again we ask for their help and they do,” said Dirk Ziegler. “It’s another way for them to give back to the community and you don’ find that a lot of places anymore. “
This Saturday, the Interact Club will be out in the community again working on a “map project” at Marsh Creek Elementary School. The pictures below are from their April Map project at Ron Nunn.
In early May, they helped with the Brentwood Chamber Restaurant tour!
Meanwhile, Assemblyman Jim Frazier issued a Letter of Appreciation to Liberty Interact Adviser Karyan Watanabe for 2012-2013 school year.
