Letters: Retired Superintendent’s Urge Support For Karen Rarey for Brentwood City Council

by ECT

Dear Editor:

Karen Rarey would be a truly outstanding member of the Brentwood City Council!

She is extremely intelligent, creative, passionate, energetic, and sincere.  Karen is hard-working, dedicated, and able to find positive solutions to very challenging issues.

I have observed these traits in Karen when she served as President of the Liberty Union High School District Educational Foundation.  During her time as President, the Foundation flourished, not only in creative fund-raising, but by providing unique enrichment programs and opportunities for all the students in the LUHSD.

Karen is a leader who is able to bring people together in the pursuit of a common goal.  She is thorough in her planning and has the personal drive to see projects through to successful completion.

Karen is imaginative.  She is bold in her willingness to take on new challenges – to try new ideas and projects that benefit the people she is committed to help.

I am confident that Karen will provide the same leadership, dedication, and hard work as a member of the Brentwood City Council.  Her positive attitude and personal motivation will greatly enhance the character of the city and quality of life for the residents.

To Whom It May Concern,

I recently became aware that Ms. Karen Rarey is running for a position on the Brentwood City Council.  Though I am not a resident of Brentwood, I heartily recommend her for such a position.

I was employed as a central office administrator in the Liberty Union High School District for nine (9) years.  During that time Karen Rarey was one of the most dedicated and effective parents in our school community.  Not only did she make herself available for service on interview panels, site councils or focus groups, she starred in the leadership position of the Education Foundation.  She was the president of that group during my time as superintendent and demonstrated a strong commitment to inclusiveness, fiscal responsibility, integrity and innovative thinking in breathing life into that organization.  She excelled at listening to a variety of viewpoints, weighing the needs of the population being served and making fair decisions.  I think she would be a stellar member of Brentwood’s city council!
