Letter: Writer Supports Diane Burgis for County Supervisor

Editor:

I have never felt strongly enough to publicly endorse a candidate- until now. Like so many others, I have serious concerns about our community, and environment, and where it will be in ten years.

I have followed candidate for County Supervisor, Diane Burgis, for some time. I have been a small business owner (Horsetown, in Brentwood) here, and have been involved in the agricultural industry, 4H, and the county fair board. She stands for so many of the reasons that my family moved to this side of the county, and for the things that we love about living here. What does everyone love about our area? The small town feel, the parks and open land, and our beautiful delta. This is a great place for families and for those who like the slower, safer lifestyle. Diane clearly appreciates these things too, and has made it her commitment to maintaining the lifestyle that we all love.

Over the years – not just in election time- Diane has shown strong commitment to our parks, open land, and water. Is anyone else worried about our delta? Diane is. We all need to pay attention, before it is too late. Diane has been vigilant in watching over our water resources.

At a time when running down other candidates might be a method to gain votes, Diane would rather use that time to talk about her ideas and plans for our area. She isn’t running to inflate her resume. She is our neighbor, her roots are here, and she truly is concerned for the future of our county.

She has my vote. I hope that my friends and neighbors will consider the same. Let’s secure the future of our beautiful community.

Thank You
