Juvenile Using “Spud Gun” Causes 2 Acre Fire in Discovery Bay

At roughly 7:40 pm Friday, East Contra Costa Fire Protection District firefighters responded to a vegetation fire in Discovery Bay where they limited damage to just two-acres.

Crews arrived on scene to find a half acre of vegetation on fire in a field near Yellowstone Circle off South Lakefront Loop. A direct mobile attack was conducted by crews from Station 59 and Station 52 while Station 93 was cancelled upon arrival.

According to the ECCFPD, the cause of the fire was from a juvenile using a “Spud Gun”. The Contra Costa County Sheriff also responded to the call.

No one was hurt or injured in the fire.

I made one of these for my kids. I dismantled it once I seen how much power it puts out. It can cause some serious injuries on a person.
