Wednesday evening at approximately 8:39 PM, Antioch Police Officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 4900 block of Country Hills Drive. The officers arrived to find 16-year old Jose Guerrero incapacitated from multiple, apparent gunshot wounds.

Life saving measures were taken by the arriving officers and medical personnel, but the victim was ultimately pronounced deceased at the scene.

The incident caused Country Hills Dr. to be closed off between Hillcrest and Ridgeview Drive as police worked the scene.

According to radio traffic, it was reported that two vehicles exchanged gunfire—however, police did not confirm that is what transpired.

This case is currently being investigated as a homicide by the Antioch Police Department Investigations Bureau. Anyone with information regarding this case is encouraged to call Detective Meads with the Antioch Police Department at (925)779-6884.

Thank you for answering my question, that I had to ask on the other article about the truck theft. I was wondering what had happened.

There was also a chase that had happened on Harris Court and Melissa Circle? Thought maybe the 2 were related? Hopefully they catch everyone involved!

Stay safe out there APD! This one was a little to close to home for us ;( Guess it was just a matter of time…

@LLAB – the incident on Mellissa Ct. was not related. That was a residential burglary in progress. PD did catch that subject. We are waiting for more info before posting a story on that incident.
